1861 Seated Liberty Silver Dollar. EF-40 (PCGS).
A highly elusive and seldom-offered issue, the business strike 1861 is much scarcer than even a limited mintage of 77,500 pieces might suggest. Most of these Silver Dollars were exported, and few were either retained stateside or repatriated in later years. This is a pleasing EF that displays even silver-gray surfaces and expectably bold definition at the assigned grade level. A moderate-size cut in the upper-left reverse field is the only singularly mentionable abrasion.
