1860-O Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. MS-64 (PCGS). CAC. OGH.
A satiny specimen with bold luster and a pale golden sheen throughout. Nicely struck and not noticeably marked -- even low magnification fails to disclose a mark of a serious nature. Possibly in a collection before the early 1960s Treasury Hoard release of a bag or more examples of the date -- those pieces are generally of MS-60 to MS-62 quality, are usually brilliant, and are virtually always heavily bag marked from more than a century of storage. The 1860-O issue represents the fourth and final date in the series struck at the New Orleans Mint. A choice example that should see spirited bidding action.
