Terminal Die State 1798 BB-124 Large Eagle S$1
Struck from a shattered obverse die, this 1798 BB-124 Dollar may have been produced in 1799 immediately before examples of the 1799 BB-152 die marriage. Conditionally scarce at the threshold of full Mint State quality, this piece is untoned with near-complete luster in a softly frosted texture. The strike is soft over Liberty's bust and the upper-right reverse, but it is much bolder elsewhere. A few wispy obverse abrasions hardly detract, and the eye appeal is superior for a lightly circulated Dollar of this type.
