1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. BB-21, B-1. Rarity-1. Two Leaves. EF-40 (PCGS).
PQ 1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar
This early Dollar has superior technical quality and eye appeal at the EF grade level. Despite having acquired 20 points of wear, both sides still reveal faint flickers of original luster as the surfaces dip into a light. This feature is perhaps most pronounced on the obverse in the protected areas around the peripheral devices. Also despite the fact that this piece saw appreciable circulation, both sides remain quite smooth with only a few widely scattered abrasions to report. Awash in soft lavender-gray patina, more vivid gold and champagne-apricot undertones come into view at direct angles. A bold-looking piece that would fit nicely into a circulated type set or a more specialized collection of Flowing Hair and Draped Bust Silver Dollars.
Pedigree: Ex: Hesselgesser Collection.
